Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction & Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kariyo mobile application and website operated by Kariyo ("the Platform", "we", "us"). By creating an account, browsing job postings, submitting quotations, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Nature of the Platform (Intermediary Role)
Kariyo is an electronic marketplace intermediary as defined under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Kariyo provides a technology platform that enables customers seeking local services to discover, communicate with, and contract independently with skilled workers.
Kariyo is not an employer, contractor, or agency for workers. Service agreements, scope of work, and pricing agreements formed through accepted quotations constitute independent bilateral contracts directly between the customer and the worker.
3. User Accounts & Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into binding contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- You agree to provide true, accurate, and complete information during registration and to maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- A single registered account may access both Customer and Worker modes through our integrated mode switcher.
4. Customer Obligations & Job Postings
- Customers must describe required tasks accurately, including the nature of work, work location, and relevant physical site conditions.
- Customers must provide safe access to the work premises and treat service providers with dignity and respect.
- Customers agree to settle the agreed price upon satisfactory completion of the job via the available payment channels.
5. Worker Obligations & Quotations
- Workers represent and warrant that they possess the skills, tools, and competence declared in their worker profiles.
- Workers submit independent quotations reflecting fair and realistic pricing for labour and estimated timelines.
- Workers must adhere to basic safety standards, arrive punctually, and communicate professionally throughout the assignment.
6. Quotations, Bookings & Payments
- When a customer accepts a worker's quotation, a binding booking is created at the agreed price.
- Payments may be processed digitally through RBI-authorized payment aggregators or declared as cash paid directly upon job completion with mutual in-app confirmation.
- Workers may request payout settlements for digital earnings, which are processed following administrative review.
7. Cancellations, Problem Reporting & Dispute Mediation
- Either party may cancel a booking before arrival under legitimate circumstances by providing a cancellation reason.
- If an unresolved dispute arises regarding job quality, damage, or non-payment, either party may submit a formal problem report with evidence.
- Kariyo provides an administrative mediation process to review evidence and determine a fair outcome. While Kariyo endeavors to resolve disputes amicably, Kariyo is not an insurer of work performance.
8. Prohibited Conduct
Users shall not:
- Post abusive, fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawful job listings or communications.
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or exploit any customer or worker.
- Misrepresent credentials, trade certifications, or impersonate other individuals.
- Attempt to bypass platform security, reverse engineer the application, or disrupt server operations.
9. Account Deletion & Termination
Users may delete their account at any time either within the mobile application (Profile & Settings > Delete Account) or via our public web deletion page at kariyo.in/delete-account. Deletion is subject to the resolution of all active bookings, financial settlements, and ongoing disputes.
Kariyo reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or threaten the safety of the community.
10. Limitation of Liability & Governing Law
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Kariyo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from work performed by independent service providers.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any legal proceedings arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
